Hey, friends! It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Balancing No Mondays Pin Co. with a full-time job and all the other "joys" of adulting has kept me on my toes. But as we transition into fall, I’ve been reflecting on seasons of change and what they mean for me, the business, and, of course, Mondays.
Lately, I’ve been thinking—what if we started our weeks on Saturdays? Stay with me. If Saturdays became the new Mondays, wouldn’t that make Mondays... Wednesdays? And doesn’t that sound so much better? For me, it’s not just a fun thought experiment but a mindset shift. It’s a way of reframing the pressure of Mondays and turning them into something midweek, more manageable.
This mindset is actually the heart of No Mondays Pin Co.—The No Mondays Mindset. It’s not about toxic positivity or pretending everything’s always perfect. It’s about embracing the reality of the grind while finding the strength to keep going, even when Mondays (or any day) try to throw you off. That’s the anchor that’s going to propel us into this next year. We’re taking this mindset and running with it—no matter what day of the week it is.
We started 2024 on a high note as the winner of Pin Lord’s Pin Design Contest with our "Fixed It!" pin. This pin flips the traditional 7-day week on its head, imagining a world where we work 2 days and enjoy 5-day weekends. It’s a cheeky take on how we all secretly wish the workweek worked. And really, who wouldn’t be on board with that?
Speaking of shifts, August marked a huge milestone for No Mondays Pin Co. We celebrated our 2nd year in business and were lucky enough to receive the Avalon Mohns BIPOC Photography Branding Grant! The photoshoot wasn’t just about celebrating the brand—it became a gathering of kindred spirits, each bringing their own unique personalities to the table. Capturing the essence of these friendships and shared moments was pure joy. Honestly, the only thing I’d change would be having more time to soak it all in and truly capture the depth of those connections. I can’t wait to use these photos to update our website and socials and really showcase how far we’ve come.
And while No Mondays Pin Co. has been such a rewarding side hustle, I often catch myself daydreaming—what if this could be my full-time job? What if instead of splitting my time between a 9-5 and this passion project, I could dive headfirst into making pins and the sort that spark joy, offer encouragement, and bring a smile to your day?
I think a lot of us Millennials feel this push-pull. We’re juggling the realities of "adulting" while our passions wait in the wings. I wish we had more options—more paths to chase what we love without sacrificing stability. That’s a dream I’ll keep working toward, not just for me, but for all of us out here navigating the grind.
As the seasons change, so too does No Mondays Pin Co. We’re growing, learning, and evolving. The No Mondays Mindset is our guide, reminding us that Mondays—or any day—don’t have to weigh us down. Thank you for coming along for the ride. Here’s to many more seasons of crushing goals (not dreams) and finding glimmers of joy in the everyday.
No Mondays formed against us shall prosper.
